Dorette Potgieter is a celebrated South African actor and public figure with a resume that ranges from theatre, television and film since the 80’s. She became a household name in 1997 with her role in Egoli, place of gold as Susan Bosman, another Chris Edward’s secretary but an undercover agent. You may even remember her as the Timotei shampoo girl on local television back in 1989. Lead parts in a television series include Voete van Goud, Soutmansland, Villa Rosa, Hard Copy, Plek van die Vleisvreters, Rhythm City, the Glitterati Talk Show as anchor host and presenter for 2 years, Vloeksteen I & II, Swartwater 2 & 3 and Die Kasteel.

She was Alicia Franke in the film ‘Ballade vir ‘n enkeling’; Chandré Wolmarans Jansen-van-Rensburg in Thys & Trix and more recently in Tjops vir Breakvis as Renata van der Spuy and in Madelein as Dr. Nina opposite Brümilda van Rensburg.
