The FILM 4 Offenders training programme is an accredited, “Learning-by-Doing” In-service Life, Occupational & Entrepreneurial Skills Development & Training programme in FILM, ELECTRONIC & DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION for offenders and Dept of Correctional Services personnel.
The programme aims to help train and equip pre-selected offenders in film and TV content generation, production & allied cross-sector skills, while incarcerated and pending release on parole, who continue In-service training with the SA FILM Academy on release, offering
possible employment and career opportunities.

As a trained relationship facilitator with more than 30 years’ experience in front and behind the camera, Dorette Potgieter, founder and CO-CEO of FILM 4 Offenders, together with Seton Bailey CEO of the SA FILM Academy, aim to make a significant contribution with this skills training and development programme, assisting the rehabilitation and reintegration of young offenders back into society and the growing economy.
As implementing agent for the SA FILM Academy, Dorette Potgieter enjoys promoting the incredible work done through this NPC offering remunerated, in-service training and ‘Learning-by-Doing’ on local & international productions as well as various production companies.
